About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an approachable and caring Primary Classroom Teacher to join the supportive team at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Orange, NSW. The teacher in a Catholic school is someone who can encourage development and nurture the personal, spiritual and educational growth of each and every student. 

We are seeking a Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:

  • Creating a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.

  • Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.

  • Using inclusive teaching strategies and adopting practices for equitable education.

  • Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.

  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.

  • Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contributing to school life.

  • Providing student supervision and assisting in organising extracurricular activities.

This is a hybrid role with two key responsibilities: three days per week release from face to face teaching and two days job-sharing a Year Three class.  Applicants who are seeking part-time positions in either roles are also welcome to apply.

About You
We are looking for someone who can address the following selection criteria:

  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW.

  • The ability to teach RFF Music or Drama is desirable. 

  • The desire to engage with and contribute to a Catholic learning organisation

  • Experience and proven record in effective classroom learning and teaching 

  • A proven ability to differentiate the learning to meet the needs of all students 

  • A proven capacity to facilitate the integration of ICT in contemporary learning practices 

  • A capacity to work collegially and collaborate within a diverse team 

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, punctuality and adaptability 

  • Willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school including coaching sporting teams, and attending school camps and retreats as required 

  • The ability to develop positive relationships in the classroom based on mutual respect, patience and understanding 

  • Characteristics that provide a positive role model to students at the school both in their professional and personal life
