Sanctuary Point Public School is located on the shores of St Georges Basin and is part of the Bay and Basin Learning Community. Our school is set in a low socio-economic community and as such has attracted significant funding over the past years to support the students and to make improvements to student social, emotional and academic achievement. Sanctuary point Public school’s current enrollment is 480 students, including 133 Aboriginal students. The school provides a strong, holistic and inclusive education program, with 7 special education classes, including 4 Multicategorical, 1 Autism, 1 IO/IS and 1 moderate intellectual disability class. The school is a strong member of the Bay and Basin community of schools and also work closely with local government and other support and cultural agencies across the Shoalhaven. Sanctuary Point Public School provides a caring and supportive environment, values respectful relationships and has a culture of high expectations for all.

Our school is currently part of the Early Action for Success initiative resulting in a strong focus on literacy and numeracy leading to outstanding achievements for students K-2. Our AEO and Aboriginal Cultural Mentor support our staff and students with strong Aboriginal cultural programs across the school. As a part of our school plan we strive to improve the learning experience of the students through the development of a creative K-6 curriculum with a strong emphasis on student and staff wellbeing.

We provide a range of engaging and real world learning opportunities in a supportive environment with a focus on current pedagogical practices that allow for differentiation to meet the needs of all students.
