Examining Bushfires at Kinglake

Excursion / Last updated 4 years, 8 months ago

Over 90 per cent of Kinglake National Park was burnt during the ‘Black Saturday’ bushfires of 2009 and surrounding communities were impacted significantly. Students can now examine the causes and impacts of bushfires of this scale, human responses to hazard events and interconnections between human activities and natural phenomena. This excursion can be aligned to the curriculum for levels 5-10 and VCE. A supporting video made by Parks Victoria specifically addresses the VCE curriculum.

A range of self-guided activities are available. View the website or email for further details.
