About our schools

Axcis works with schools that cater to a wide range of different needs & disabilities – everything from high-functioning Autism, through to profound & multiple learning difficulties, through to social, emotional & behavioural disorders where the students are usually at a mainstream academic level but require other kinds of support. Our consultants work closely with teachers to identify what they most enjoy & find them a job that suits.

Types of work 

  • Long term, short term & day to day teaching work throughout England & Wales.
  • We offer a really awesome guaranteed casual/relief/substitute work agreement where we will guarantee you will be paid for 5 days’ work per week even if there is no work available. This means you can try out a range of different schools & types of disabilities before you decide what you want to do longer term.

Requirements

You do not have to have specifically trained in Special Education to work in this area (though of course it does help!), so if you have ever thought that you might like to give it a try then get in touch & we can assist you to make the transition – it's hard to think of a more rewarding job! 

You must:

  • Have a recognised teaching qualification (ECE, Primary, Secondary or Special Education)
  • Be registered or provisionally registered with the relevant teaching registration board or council in Australia or New Zealand. 
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude & a passion for adventure
  • Have experience or an interest in teaching students who have some kind of learning, physical, social or behavioural disability. 
  • Be able to get a visa to work in the UK (talk to us about this if you are unsure!)
