Hosted by Tony Jones, the program is much-loved nationally for facilitating discussion across a huge range of issues from politics, science, religion and business, all the while providing a platform that encourages a plurality of perspectives.
Filmed and broadcasted nationally, a group of panellists field questions from the studio audience as well as those sent in by the general public via social media and the internet.
The long-standing live show is now opening up a seat on the panel for a lucky student to join in the debate.
Enthusiastic students in search of that first big break are highly encouraged to apply and pit their wits against some of the most well-known political and social commentators.
Applicants are required to put together a short one-minute video detailing why they’d be a good fit for the show, what issues they are most passionate about, and how they’d deal with going head-to-head with the country’s top minds and special overseas guests.
Entries can be submitted via the ABC’s website.
The final date for submission of entries is Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
The show is yet to release details about when the selection process will conclude.
