associationWITH a growing membership of over 600 beginning and pre-service teachers the Beginning & Establishing Teachers' Association (BETA) assists schools in providing relevant and timely induction for all teachers.

An enthusiastic committee organise professional development events and assist local networks throughout Queensland. BETA strongly advocates for developing a quality teaching workforce, which is dependent on teachers accessing professional development, beginning with induction.

The Association's professional development program aims to complement systemic and school-based induction with annual conferences in Brisbane and Townsville and networking opportunities within school clusters.

The Spirit of Learning residential conference has proven itself to be an exciting innovation in the journey of induction for Queensland's beginning and establishing teachers. The 2010 conference featured Dr Christine Richmond, along with experienced teachers providing practical workshops.

BETA is supported by the Queensland Teachers' Credit Union, Queensland Teachers' Union, the Queensland Department of Education and Training and Teachers' Union Health.
