We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teacher to join a fantastic team at an SEN school in Blackpool. As a Special Educational Needs Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored education and support to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the necessary tools and strategies to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Location: BlackpoolHours: 8.30am-3.30pm Monday-FridayRate: £200-£240 per day
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students with SEN.Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each student, setting clear and achievable targets aligned with their abilities and educational goals.Utilise a range of teaching strategies and resources, including visual aids, sensory tools, and technology, to facilitate learning and maximise student engagement.Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behaviour specialists, to address the holistic needs of students.Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.Implement effective behaviour management techniques and interventions to promote positive behaviour and social skills development.Monitor student progress and assess learning outcomes regularly, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as needed to ensure continued growth and success.Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing regular updates on student progress, achievements, and areas for development.Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to special educational needs
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or relevant field (required)Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certificationExperience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a school settingStrong understanding of SEN characteristics, behaviours, and learning styles, as well as evidence-based teaching strategies and interventionsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skillsPatience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students with special educational needsAbility to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment
