North Rocks Public School has approximately 878 students K–6. The school was established in 1923 and has developed a strong reputation for achieving excellence in academic achievement, performance in the Arts and sport and a student welfare system, which values building sound relationships based on choice theory. Every student has the opportunity to attain high personal standards of performance. At North Rocks Public School our purpose is to develop in children attitudes, skills and knowledge to facilitate their learning and achievements within an environment which encourages safety, honesty, personal responsibility and respect for others.
North Rocks Public School provides quality education to its students in thirty-one classes for mainstream children. Additionally, the school has two classes for gifted students (OC classes) and a support unit with two autism classes and an IO class. Strong parent support for the school enables a wide cultural program to be offered in the school's excellent physical facilities, and there is a strong focus on future focused learning in our new classroom infrastructure facility.
The
student population consists
of 66% of students coming from a
non-English speaking background. The school has a reputation as being an
inclusive and caring place where students are engaged and happy at school. It
enjoys close links with the local community and has an active P & C.
