Alexandria Park Community School

Alexandria Park Community School is a vibrant and unique Kindergarten to Year 12 community school.  We are proud of our students, our positive school culture, and our achievements. Alexandria Park Community School is both a primary school for students in Kindergarten to Year 6 and a secondary school for students in Years 7 to 12.  Our student enrolments total 916 with 426 students in the primary school and 490 students in the high school.  57% of students are from language backgrounds other than English and 18% of students are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.  The school has an Opportunity Class in Year 5 and Year 6, and a Selective Stream in Year 7 to Year 10 for academically gifted and talented students. 

We provide an outstanding transition to Kindergarten program in partnership with our community centre. The school has a strategic focus on continuous improvement in literacy, numeracy and quality curriculum implementation and teaching to ensure that all students have the capacity to reach their full academic potential.  Teacher performance and development focuses on high quality research based professional learning opportunities which enhance teacher leadership, collaboration and future-focussed learning.   Positive behaviour for learning underpins our systematic approach to student wellbeing and learning from K-12, ensuring our students and community are committed to learning, respect and safety. 

We work in close partnership with our parents and community to make Alexandria Park Community School a welcoming and friendly school.  Our active P & C association support our dedicated staff in delivering high quality inclusive educational programs.  Authentic partnerships with parents and carers, local community agencies and other educational facilities enrich our Kindergarten to Year 12 learning community and strengthen APCS as an engaged and connected K – 12 community school.

Alexandria Park Community School is currently undergoing a major upgrade. The redevelopment will include flexible, future-focussed learning spaces which will further enhance innovative and engaging teaching practices, provide specialist facilities for a range of K – 12 programs and maximise outdoor green space.  The redevelopment will ensure that the school has the capacity to meet the needs of increasing student enrolments from Kindergarten to Year 12.
