Autism in girls: the hidden condition

Trying to identify a female pupil with a condition which has been described by an expert in the field as 'extreme maleness' is going to be tricky to say the least, especially when the characteristics a girl shows are not going to be particularly tomboyish, macho or even 'nerdy'.

In fact this 'problem' pupil may be eager to please, ambitious to do well and could even have perfectionist tendencies ...
