    Agnew School is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated educator in the role of Teacher – Learning Support at our Brisbane campus situated in the Wynnum Manley district. This role is Part Time and is required Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (3 days per week) and is available for a Term 3.

    The Position

    This role, reporting directly to the Head of Campus and Head of Faculty, has responsibility for delivering the teaching function and providing individualised support to students whom require additional learning support across both our primary and secondary year levels.

    In this role, you will be required to prepare daily lessons and unit plans of work for students with individual needs in accordance with syllabus requirements, plan collaboratively with subject teaching teams across our four campuses, evaluate and report on the progress of students and discuss individual performance and problems with students and their parents.

    This role will also provide close assistance and support to a grade 3 student whom has a range of learning and medical conditions including Spina Bifida. Specifically, this role will have responsibility for the development of lesson plans for this student, and will provide support to the Teacher Aide team in the delivery of these lesson plans. This role would also be required to provide some level of physical and emotional support to the student, including assistance with eating, drinking and catheterisation.

    The Person

    The ideal candidate will be a team player, have a genuine love of teaching, possess a patient and compassionate nature and a "can do" attitude, and be comfortable in providing educational and special needs support to a wheelchair bound student. The ideal candidate will take great job satisfaction in being able to positively contribute to a childs life via their learning journey, and be comfortable in stepping away from traditional classroom teaching practices to embrace modern teaching methods and technologies including video conferencing and online resources.

    As the school has a strong faith based approach to life and learning, the successful applicant will also need to be able to respect and support this aspect of the lives of the students.

    The successful candidate will have relevant teaching experience, including specific learning support experience, and will hold relevant qualifications and a current teacher registration certificate with the Queensland College of Teachers.

    The successful candidate must also be willing to undertake first aid and manual handling training, and a willingness to undertake catheterisation training would be desirable. Agnew School will also invest in additional training with the students team of medical support personnel for the successful applicant.
