Willans Hill School for Specific Purposes is located in Wagga Wagga with an enrolment of 56 students (including 7 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students and 10 students from a non-English speaking background). The school caters for students with a moderate to severe intellectual disability from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school receives equity funding to support students from non-English speaking backgrounds, Aboriginal backgrounds and for students from low socio-economic status communities. The learning needs of students are identified through personalised learning support plans and implemented through careful and considered collaborative planning with clearly articulated student learning priorities. With communication being a central goal for all students, learning focuses on what students can do, with an underlying belief that all students can and will achieve.
